History of Biomagnetic Pair

The History of Biomagnetic Pair spans as far back as the 6th century B.C and the discovery of magnetic properties in rocks. When Thales of Miletus noticed certain stones attracted each other and also attracted to iron. Flash-forward to 1936 when the father of contemporary biomagnetism, Walter Rawls demonstrated the effects of the north and south poles of magnets on blood, nerves, bacteria, and plant cells. This was the beginning of the connection between biology and magnetism, but it wasn’t widely known until later in 1974 when Albert Davis and Walter Rawls published their book, Magnetism and Its Effects on the Living System. This book is investigated the laws of magnetism and talked about how it affected all biological life, including Humans. They showed that the biological activity of cells increased when a magnet field was applied. They noticed that when exposed to a north pole, the metallic elements and ions in the cell decreased the biological effects and reduced the cells activity. When applied to an unhealthy cell, it produced a relaxed condition similar to the body’s defense mechanism. They also observed that when a cell was exposed to the south pole of a magnet, the effects were opposite. (DAVIS and RAWLS, 1974; PHILPOTT, 2000).

Dr Richard BroeringmeyerBy the 1980s, Davis worked with a man named Dr. Richard Broeringmeyer who was the medical director at NASA.  Broeringmeyer, who was recognized as an authority in magnetic therapy and biomagnetism, was investigating the organic dysfunctions astronauts suffered when they returned from space called “The Enigma of the Short leg.” Since all astronauts had one leg shorter than the other (approximately 1-2 cm!) Broeringmeyer determined it must be an energetic phenomenon linked to biomagnetic fields, called Right Hemibody Shortening or Magnet-Sympathetic-Foot reflex (MSFR). He came to the conclusion that the shortening was a consequence of the astronauts distancing themselves from the Earth’s magnetic field. Dr. Broeringmayer noticed that when magnets were applied to astronauts’ bodies it eliminated the shortening of the leg after a while.

In 1988, a man by the name of Dr. Issac Goiz Duran (Goiz) who had a background in physiotherapy, acupuncture, phytotherapy and medicine, also observed the shortening of the leg in his patients. This led him to participate in a seminar taught by Richard Broeingmeyer where Dr.Goiz made the connection between biomagnetic, energetic, and immunological processes involved in pathologies. He believed the shortening of the leg was a kinesiological response to health or a disease.

history of biomagnetic pairSince Broeingmeyer’s technique believed that an accumulation of ions in certain areas of an organism led to the creation of biomagnetic poles – he determined that when there was an accumulation of positive charges, a south pole was formed and where there was an accumulation of negative charges, a north pole was formed. Dr. Goiz realized that magnets are attracted to the opposite polarity and that to reverse these biomagnetic poles a pair magnets with different polarities was needed. The treatment he used to undo the accumulation of charges was to apply the North pole (Negative, Black or Scanning Magnet) of a medium strength magnet over the positive charges to attract the charges using the magnets static magnetic field (SMF). To undo the negative charges he would place the South pole (Positive, Red or impacting magnet) to the body.

The kinesiological reflex of the right hemibody shortening from the SMF of a magnet indicates an unbalanced point in the body. This reflex is an involuntary contraction of a group of muscles, including the iliopsoas muscle, that run down the spine to the femur. This reflex or contraction in the human body is how we are able to determine what area needs magnet placements to rebalance the body.

The History of Biomagnetic Pair therapy continued as Dr.Goiz began practicing the treatment using magnets on terminally ill patients and was able to discover his first Biomagnetic pair – Thymus/Rectum for HIV. In 1993 he released his first book about it entitled El SIDA es Curable (AIDS is Curable). In the years following, Dr. Goiz was able to determine the locations of many other pairs that relate to various pathogens in the human body and therefore discovering Biomagnetic Pair Therapy which is gaining popularity and still practiced in the same way today.

While many of the pairs have already been discovered by Dr.Goiz, many of them were discovered by other practitioners and adopted to the scanning protocol.
