How Long Should You Leave Magnets on The Body?

What happens if I leave my Magnets on too long? How long is too long? How long to leave magnets on for Biomagnetic pair therapy?

When you first start practicing Biomagnetic Pair therapy and you are applying magnets to yourself, there will definitely come a time when you question how long to leave the magnets on your body. Over the years, different magnet therapy types have said to leave magnets on for different time periods, so it is easy to get confused, but today we will discuss the proper length of time to keep magnets on the body when you are practicing biomagnetic pair therapy.
The Goiz school of biomagnetism follows a basic rule of thumb for magnet application time and that is by following the Latitude rule.

What is the Latitude rule?

The latitude rule is simple, you take the latitude of your current location, or the location of the person recieving the treatment, and you divide it in half. The answer you get is the recommended time in minutes to leave the magnets on the body.

If you don’t know what latitude your are at you can find out by going to google maps, press and hold on the map to drop a red pin, and then swipe up the information panel at the bottom to see your coordinates or you can use GPS-Coordinates.org and allow location access.
Just to be clear, I’ll give an example: If you live in Washington State, your latitude would be 47.7511° N, so you take the number 47 and divide it by 2 to get 23.5, so you would leave the magnets on the body for 23 and 1/2 minutes, or you could just round it up. The farther away from the equator you are, the longer the magnets must stay on.

What if you lose track of time and leave the magnets on for too long?

Don’t stress out about leaving the magnets on a little longer than you are supposed to. Nothing bad is going to happen. The whole point of Biomagnetic pair therapy is to balance the body’s pH and once that is accomplished in the amount of time the latitude rule states, then the job is done. They call this the All-or-Nothing law, meaning if you leave the magnets on longer, nothing else will happen because of it. Although, there are two exceptions to this law.

What are the exceptions to the latitude rule?

The exception to the latitude rule is if you or your client is 1. recovering from surgery or 2. have an acute injury, like a sprained ankle or even a urinary tract infection, UTI. If either of these scenarios are the case then you would want to keep the magnets on much longer. This is because the body is trying to recover in these situations and in order to improve it’s circulation and reduce the inflammation of your injury you want to give the body some extra support. In these cases it is okay to leave magnets on for a couple hours at a time to give the body that extra healing boost. We recommend only leaving magnets on this long for the first few days of the recovery period then switching back to the latitude rule.
